The tabletop is a Zelkova wood grain veneer with a honeycomb core, making it relatively light. Upon close inspection, there are a few minor scratches, but they are not noticeable and it is still in good usable condition.

The size is suitable for a Japanese-style room of about 6 tatami mats, such as in an apartment, and is a convenient size.
